About Blue Octopus Studio
Blue Octopus Studio consists of the talents of Heather Bowness, who provides a personalized performance on violin and cello. Her repertoire consists of classical, folk and string pieces, and for weddings, she focuses on providing a romantic soundtrack to help you celebrate your day.
Heather Bowness is a classically trained violinist who has played with the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Victoria Operatic Society and Victoria Philharmonic Choir. Heather has also worked with many indie artists and even a Hallmark film. She's also a member of the Breakwater String Quartet. When not performing at weddings, Heather is a professional violin teacher who uses her love of the instrument to inspire violinists using world-recognized Suzuki methods. Heather has performed at public concerts as part of an orchestra and as a soloist.
Blue Octopus Studio will provide music during your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. After an initial consultation with each couple, Heather will put together a playlist and learn any new songs you require. Her most popular packages are during the ceremony, where the romance of a string soloist can add that unforgettable moment that you will recount for a lifetime. For peace of mind, Heather includes liability insurance and will provide sound/PA equipment.
