About Arbutus Studios
Arbutus Studios is a full-service video production company based in Vancouver, Canada offering high-quality video content for weddings, corporations, and music videos. The company is led by a team of 4 experienced video professionals, known for their expertise and commitment to quality. They provide innovative solutions, both locally and internationally, and are willing to travel for projects. Arbutus Studios is dedicated to delivering outstanding results and exceeding customer expectations.
Scott Jacobs is Arbutus Studios' owner and head cinematographer. He has worked at 50+ weddings over the years as both a video professional and a musician. In the last 10 years he has lived and worked in Parksville, Nanaimo, Sydney Australia, and now is lucky to call Vancouver his permanent home.
Scott's passion for videography and filmmaking began when he discovered the work of Australian videographer/photographer Jarrad Seng. The way his work focused on storytelling and capturing his subjects inspired Scott to want to do the same. Since then Scott has continued to hone his craft by working on numerous wedding, corporate, music video, and documentary shoots. He is comfortable shooting on Panasonic, Blackmagic Design, and Canon Camera systems, but currently opts to use Panasonic equipment for most of his shoots.
