About Balzac’s Cafe – Powerhouse
Balzac’s Cafe - Powerhouse is located in Toronto, Ontario, 18 minutes drive from CBD and 23 minutes’ drive from Toronto Pearson International Airport. Formerly the Canada Foundry and later Canadian General Electric, it is now the location of Balzac’s Cafe – Powerhouse. Balzac’s Cafe – Powerhouse is one of the branches of Balzac’s Coffee Roasters. The Grand cafés of Paris were the inspiration behind Balzac’s Coffee Roasters. Intending to bring that culture to Canada, they founded the company in Stratford, Ontario, in 1996. Through success and creativity, Balzac’s Coffee Roasters opened 14 branches across Ontario, with Balzac’s Cafe - Powerhouse being one of them. It offers the finest services and a warm environment for your special day. This eclectic venue is suitable for wedding and cocktail receptions, bridal shower, engagement parties, and rehearsal dinners. It offers both indoor and outdoor settings.
Balzac’s Cafe can accommodate 50 guests for dinner set up, and 80 guests for a cocktail set up.

This venue offers modern antique furniture and a blend of artifacts reminiscent of the building’s past. It also has classic features that include a high wood plank ceiling, ceramic tile floors, exposed brick, industrial light, and marble with brass inlay. Other décor includes the vintage-styled Balzac’s signature poster, custom wallpaper, picture frames, and terracotta plants hanging down on the walls, flowerpots, a brown sofa with throw pillows, wooden chairs, and tables. Balzac’s Cafe works with several carefully selected caterers. They include Provision TO, Gusto 54, Daniel et Daniel, 10Tation, and The Tempered Room. They also allow external caterers.
