About Strathcona Church
Strathcona Church in Vancouver is a heritage building that has been a part of the city’s history since 1910. The church building has been restored recently to offer couples a traditional place to start a new chapter in their lives. Couples who are looking for a historic and special place to say ‘I do’ will find the Strathcona Church ticking all the right boxes. It is also the recipient of the 2015 Vancouver Heritage Award.
● The Main Sanctuary is the ceremony space at the Strathcona Church. This function space can accommodate a maximum of 400 guests seated.
● The Reception Hall, located on the street level, is for smaller gatherings. This space can seat up to 150 guests and is ideally designed for formal dining events.
● The Strathcona Church has a Facility Coordinator who assists you in planning your wedding ceremony at the Strathcona Church.
● The Sanctuary also comes with a sound system, podium, speakers, mic, and monitors for you to use.
● Lighting systems are also included in the Sanctuary.
● Seating arrangements up to the maximum capacity of both function spaces are a part of the venue rental.
● A piano is available in the Main Sanctuary and can be used by a musician of your choice.
● The church can also make recommendations for pastoral services that you require for your wedding ceremony.
● Additional rentals such as furniture and audio-visual equipment can also be provided on request.
● A coffee urn is provided in the Reception Hall.
Decorations are allowed at the Strathcona Church but with certain conditions as it is a heritage building:
● Flower arrangements can be used in functional areas. However, the use of birdseed, confetti, etc., is not permitted.
● Please ensure that no decorations are taped or affixed to the walls.
If you choose the Reception Hall for your wedding reception, you can also work with any preferred caterer of your choice for food and beverage service.
The Strathcona Church is a heritage-listed and special venue in Vancouver. Contact the Venue Manager today to book your preferred date, as weddings at the church are reserved on a first-come-first-served basis.
