About Merivale United Church Hall and Gardens
Merivale United Church, Hall and Gardens, situated about 10 minutes from the International Airport Ottawa, is an event venue that hosts wedding celebrations. This historic church was built in 1876, while the hall was built in 1967. A unique thing about this venue is that volunteers keep the place running. Merivale is also now recognized and is listed as a historic site in Ontario.
It is a beautiful venue for elaborate or small weddings and can also host bridal showers, engagement parties, and anniversaries. Couples who prefer to have their wedding within a church premise will appreciate this venue as it has all you need to stay a full day.
Merivale’s two areas can be booked separately for indoor wedding ceremonies and receptions.
● The Church can seat a maximum of 100 guests on its cushioned pews during your wedding ceremony. It is airy, bright, features gothic arched windows, and has an embedded microphone on the elevated pulpit that improves sound transmission. Couples are also free to come to the church with their officiant.
● The Main Hall can accommodate up to 100 seated guests or 145 standing guests. The Secondary Hall downstairs can host about 100 guests. The secondary hall is quite spacious and has a dance floor compared to the Main Hall.
