About Baldachin Inn

The Baldachin Inn, which was constructed in 1860, originally housed the biggest department store between Chicago and Montreal. Harry MacLean constructed it. In honour of him, there is a bar called Harry MacLean's.

The King's Post Truss system, which is only utilized in one other structure in Chicago and is unique to the Baldachin Ballroom, removes the need for ceiling supports. This allows brides and their grooms to dance the night away in the ballroom's 6000 square feet of open space. The Baldachin Ballroom is a popular venue for weddings in the Ottawa region because of its 200 seats and charming French Country design.
