About Puddicombe Estate

Puddicombe Estate is one of the oldest in Canada, with a history that dates back to 1797. It started as a cattle farm that began planting fruits only in the early 1900s. During the same period, a café, bakeshop and general store were built as well as an agricultural train. The Pudd train comes from Crystal Beach Amusement Park and has been part of the estate since 1997 and operates to this day, taking guests on tour along waterways, vineyards and orchards. Since 2000 it has won numerous awards, with the first from Hamilton Tourism as Business of the Year. A year later, it won the same award again as well as Rookie of the Year in 2001. Other awards include the Legacy Award. Agri-Tourism award. Excellence award in 2010 plus Lifetime Achievement award in 2012.

Facilities and Capacity

• Banquet Room seats 55 guests while it allows for cocktail parties for up to 60 guests.
• Harvest Café seats 30 guests and is equipped with a wood-burning stove, tasting bar that you can customize as per dietary requirements and café chairs and tables. Table linen, tableware and glasses are provided. It is suitable for both plated dinners or cocktail style receptions.
• The Vineyard Room is suitable for 70 cocktail style receptions and 50 seated guests, with 5 large round tables and wooden chairs plus a large rectangular brides table. It has its own kitchen for third-party catering set up and serving, a large balcony that overlooks the estate, plus a bar.
• Admiral Dewy Train Car caters to 50 cocktail style guests or 30 seated guests. It has a magnificent location in front of the pond with a large deck attached that overlooks a willow tree line waterfront.
• Wedding ceremony options are plentiful, with a variety of backdrops and locations on the estate to choose from. Locations include grassy areas or trees, gardens, escarpment views, admiral Dewey train car, vineyards, fruit orchards, train tracks, ponds and waterfalls. Beautiful arches, red carpet aisles and chairs for guests.
