In July 1985, Neil Goodkey began selling popcorn and sugar floss at neighbourhood trade exhibitions and fairs, which led to the launch of Special Event Rentals - Edmonton. One employee and a modest stock of tables and chairs occupied a 2,100-square-foot space at 85th Street and Yellowhead Trail in Edmonton, Alberta.
The company began expanding in 1990. Adding 10 staff and 10,000 square feet of additional space helped better serve Edmonton's event rental needs. It was at this time that Edmonton Wedding & Party Center was launched. Modern wedding rentals, special event accessories, disposables, fake flower arrangements, and beautiful rentals are offered in this segment.
In 1997, Event Planning Headquarters was founded as the second section of Special Event Rentals Edmonton. It offers on-site management, complete event planning, music, entertainment, one-of-a-kind favours, and photographer services. Style and modernity are its hallmarks.
Lastly, tents were introduced by Special Event Rentals in 2002.
