About The Trevor Salloum Group

The Trevor Salloum Group is an entertainment group located in Kelowna, BC. It aims at creating a superb atmosphere at wedding events. The group comprises 4-6 musicians and provides a sophisticated collection of Swing, Jazz standards, Blues, Big bands, Latin, Ballads, Waltzes, Bossa novas, and Samba. This gives a variety of Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Middle Eastern, and contemporary percussion.

Experience

Trevor Salloum, a percussionist, entertainer, and teacher who has been in the entertainment business for more than 30 years performing internationally and conducting workshops, owns the group. He studied music at Notre Dame University, York University, Escuela Nacional de Arte (Cuba), and Banff Centre. This has taken him throughout North America, Brazil, Cuba, and the Middle East.
Some masters that he studied alongside include Jim Blackley (Jazz), Armando Peraza, Alex Acuna, Changuita, and others.
Also, Salloum leads several ensembles such as major mambo, Ritmo Caliente (Latin), Altarab (Middle East), and Trevor Salloum (Jazz). Also, he has organized several concerts, some of which include Jazz night, Classic blues night, and Classic Cuban Night.
To his credit, Trevor Salloum is a best-selling author with MelBay Publication through written works of literature on music and its instruments. They include Afro-Latin Polyrhythm, Afro-Cuban Rhythm Vol. 1&2, Bongo Drumming: Beyond the basics, First Lesson Conga, and First Lesson Bongo, as well as The Conga and Bongo Drum in Jazz.
