About Okanagan Bagpiping Services
Andrew Moore, in collaboration with Chad Goodman, comprises the duo of bagpipers representing Okanagan Bagpiping Services.
With a combined experience of approximately 90 years, both Chad and Andrew have showcased their exceptional bagpiping skills at diverse occasions such as weddings, parties, birthdays, celebrations of life, head tables, announcements, and more. As proficient pipers, the duo understands the importance of delivering high-quality performances, as nothing is more disheartening than a subpar piper.
Whether it be joyous occasions, sombre events, or even moments of valour on the battlefield, the captivating sound of bagpipes never fails to inspire.
Andrew Moore has over 50 years of experience playing the bagpipes. He began his musical journey at the age of 9 with the Black Watch Cadets in Montréal, Québec. Later, he enlisted with the Black Watch, Royal Highlanders of Canada (CF Reserves) and served as an infantryman and a piper with the Regimental Pipes and Drums. After 14 years with the Black Watch Regiment, he moved to Ottawa and joined the Air Command Pipes and Drums (now RCAF Pipes and Drums), where he played for over 25 years, including a decade as Pipe Sergeant.
Currently residing in Kelowna, Andrew holds the position of Pipe Sergeant for the Kelowna Pipe Band Society Pipes and Drums.
Throughout his career, Andrew had the privilege of performing at significant events and historical locations such as Vimy Ridge, Beaumont-Hamel, Dieppe, Courcelette, Ypres, and other sites of Canadian importance.
He has also played for members of the Royal Family, various Governor Generals, and visiting foreign leaders. In addition to these notable occasions, Andrew has played at funerals, head tables, and countless weddings. His extensive repertoire allows him to accommodate almost any piping request as long as it can be played on the bagpipe.
Chad Goodman, on the other hand, began playing the bagpipes at the age of thirteen. He currently serves as the Pipe Major of the Kelowna Pipe Band Society. Chad's piping career has taken him across the country, performing in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Banff, and various locations in British Columbia. He has also participated in the World Championships in Scotland on three separate occasions. Chad has played at the Governor General's garden parties in Ottawa and has entertained guests at numerous military mess dinners.
His repertoire includes performances at weddings, funerals, birthday parties, and various events throughout the Okanagan. With his extensive experience, Chad is eager to add a touch of Highland spirit to your special occasion.
