About The Lavender Farm
A family farm next door, owned by Bob's great-grandfather's great-grandmother's family since 1882, has been sold to Bob's great-grandfather. In 1970, Bob and Barb Gillies started farming on the same property as Grandpa and Grandma Gillies.
They quickly added pigs to their farming operations. The business expanded quickly as the hogs prevailed. In 1989, they established their own farm equipment dealership. They sold this company in 2002 with the help of their three sons. Hog prices and markets declined sharply, too, resulting at the end of this aspect of the company.
As of today, they still own the farm, which has undergone renovations and grown lots of lavender!
Ayr, Ontario's Lavender Farm specializes in romantic, rustic-themed weddings and other special events that offer couples an unforgettable experience on their wedding day. As a result of the unpredictable nature of the weather in spring and fall, this lovely setting is only available from June through September.
During the lavender season, an outdoor ceremony can be performed in the magnificent lavender field. Weddings with a rustic, rural feel are ideal at the 75-year-old Heritage Bank Barn.
There is no better location for family photos than the lavender farm, and it will work with your preferred photographer to ensure that you and your family feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire process. The venue can accommodate 120 seated guests for wedding receptions.
